Tamale, Ghana – In a significant development, Mr. Abass Issifu, a Compliance/Monitoring Officer at the Ghana Free Zones Authority, has successfully completed the acquisition of Division Two football club, Tamale Victory Star FC.
After extensive negotiations and the completion of all necessary paperwork, Mr. Abass Issifu has taken over ownership from the former proprietor, Mohammed Asamoah.
Mr. Issifu’s vision for the club is both ambitious and commendable. He is determined to identify and nurture young talents, guiding them towards achieving professional football careers. Moreover, he aims to provide the players with a solid education foundation. The club is committed to ensuring that its players have comfortable accommodation and will periodically arrange training trials abroad to create opportunities for them.
For the time being, the team will continue its training regimen at the familiar BATCO grounds.
A brief overview of Mr. Abass Issifu’s background reveals a wealth of experience. Prior to this venture, he served as a personal assistant/marketer at Zenith Bank Ghana Limited from 2013 to 2017. Currently, he holds the position of Managing Director and Board Secretary at Maligu Investment Limited, where he oversees the daily operations and administration of the company.
Mr. Abass Issifu’s impressive academic qualifications include an MSC in International Business from the University of Ghana, a BSC in Management from the University of Cape Coast, and an HND in Secretaryship and Management Studies from Tamale Technical University. His professional journey has been further enriched by certificates from esteemed institutions such as MIT Sloan School of Management (USA), Yale School of Management (USA), and Temple University Fox School of Business.
As Tamale Victory Star FC gears up for the upcoming 2023/2024 Division Two league season, the club and its new owner, Mr. Abass Issifu, are poised for an exciting journey towards success and player development.
